This innocuous book came to my attention in 2005 and it has passed through my hands repeatedly since. I’d no inclination to peruse its contents for I’d ceased to trust in miracles. In 2005, I was cursing God for abandoning me. I was using all my energy to stave off the hell I descended into 15 years earlier by marrying a person as un-Godly as anyone could be.
In 2007, while packing some books as donations for a guide fair, my hand once more fell on “A Course in Miracles “.By this time, I’d secured a divorce from my husband but was still working with the fallout. As I grasped the book, I became very thoughtful and calm. The thing that was it about that book that invoked feelings I hadn’t experienced in an exceedingly number of years? My hand clung to the book refusing to put it down. Realizing that this is an indicator that I’d better take a closer look, I made a pot of tea and sat in my personal favorite reading chair. With great curiosity, I focused on the blue hardcover and read “A Course in Miracles, a basis for inner peace.” Wow. That was a pretty bold statement but okay, I chose to bite. Going for a deep breath, I pondered probably the most obvious question: What IS the inspiration for inner peace? This book instantly opened a vintage wound and it had better have the clear answer to healing.
“A Course in Miracles” holds true that, a course. Written in three parts, this book is to not be studied lightly and cannot be read in per week or even a month acim spotify. There is text, a workbook for students, and an information for teachers. I’d a sudden urge to fling the book across the room because I was deeply and profoundly afraid. I instinctively understood that when I began reading this book, I was going to have to improve, and was I ready for the journey ahead?
The best movie is “The Matrix “.The main character Neo is trying to find the clear answer to the matrix. He understands the matrix exists but he doesn’t know very well what it is. The man with the clear answer, Morpheus, contacts Neo and offers the ability for truth by providing Neo a choice between having a blue pill or perhaps a red pill. Take the blue pill and remain ignorant or take the red pill and find the clear answer to the matrix. Before he reaches for his pill of preference, Morpheus cautions Neo that should he select the red pill, he is able to never return to living he have been living.
“A Course in Miracles” may be the red pill. Do I read it and change everything I know about the entire world and myself or do I take the blue pill and make “A Course in Miracles” book fair fodder?
As I choke down the red pill, I flip to Lesson 1 of 365 in the workbook for students and promptly read, “Nothing I see in this room means anything “.Oh dear. Could it be too late to take the blue pill?
